School Closure Announcement

Dear Parents, Students, Teachers, and Staff Members,
Due to the continued hazardous driving conditions, forecast of freezing temperatures, and rolling power outages, HISD will be closed for the remainder of the week.
Due to a previously scheduled staff development day on Monday, February 22nd, classes in HISD will resume on Tuesday, February 23rd.
Staff should report to work Monday, February 22nd.

Write In Deadline Notice & Form


Due to the inclement weather and power outages, the HISD office will be closed the remainder of the day. The filing deadline to file as a write-in candidate is February 16, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. You may email your completed and notarized Declaration of Write-In Candidacy form to or fax to 361-798-5902.

Wednesday, February 17th - Cancellation of Classes and @Home Learning

Hallettsville ISD will discontinue @Home learning at this time due to rolling blackouts and lack of internet connectivity. Students are not expected to complete their online assignments or paper packets.
Campuses will remain closed Wednesday, February 17th. Decisions regarding future closures will be made on a day-by-day basis as we continue to monitor the weather.
Please continue to check your email, social media, and for more updates if possible.
The safety and wellbeing of our students and their families is our top priority. Please exercise caution in these extreme conditions and stay safe and warm!

Tuesday, Feb. 16th - Cancellation of In-Person Classes

Attention Hallettsville ISD Parents, Students, and Staff:
Due to extreme winter weather, Hallettsville ISD will be closed for in-person classes and will transition to @Home learning for Tuesday, February 16th. Decisions for the remainder of the week will be made on a day by day basis and will be based on weather reports and discussions with county officials.
Students received two days worth of paper lessons this past Friday.
If additional days are needed, more information will be provided via Dojo.
Students should log into Google Classroom for attendance and lesson plans.
If a teacher provided paper packets for their subject, please complete and return those to campus when classes resume in person.
Mrs. Teltschik will send out a Remind notice with more details for HJH’s @Home learning.
