AI Can Help You Learn—But You Are Still the Learner.

Artificial intelligence can help you brainstorm, explain difficult concepts, practice skills, and explore ideas. But AI should be used to support your learning, not replace your thinking.

๐Ÿง  Think Before You Use AI

Ask yourself:

  • Is my teacher allowing AI for this assignment?
  • Am I using AI to help me learn or to do my work for me?
  • Can I explain and understand the answer AI gave me?
  • Have I checked the information to make sure it is accurate?
  • Am I protecting my personal information?

  • AI can be helpful for:

    โœ… Brainstorming ideas
    โœ… Explaining a difficult concept
    โœ… Practicing a skill
    โœ… Creating study questions
    โœ… Getting feedback on your work when allowed
    โœ… Exploring different perspectives
    โœ… Helping you get started on a project

    AI should not be used to:

    โŒ Complete an assignment you're expected to do yourself
    โŒ Submit AI-generated work as your own
    โŒ Avoid learning or doing the thinking required for an assignment
    โŒ Create fake sources or information
    โŒ Impersonate another person
    โŒ Create harmful, inappropriate, or deceptive content

  • Think before you type!

    Never enter confidential or personal information into an AI tool, including:

    • Passwords
    • Student ID numbers
    • Home addresses
    • Phone numbers
    • Private school records
    • Personal information about yourself or someone else

    When in doubt, don't enter it. Ask first.

  • AI can sound confident—even when it is wrong.

    Before using AI-generated information:

    1. STOP
    Don't automatically assume it is true.

    2. CHECK
    Compare the information with reliable sources.

    3. THINK
    Does the answer make sense?

    4. ASK
    Talk to your teacher if you're unsure.

    AI can make mistakes. Your critical thinking matters.

  • Every assignment may have different expectations.

    Your teacher may say:

    ๐ŸŸข AI is allowed
    Use AI in the way your teacher describes.

    ๐ŸŸก AI is allowed with limitations
    Follow the specific instructions for the assignment.

    ๐Ÿ”ด AI is not allowed
    Complete the work yourself without using AI.

    If you're not sure, ask before using AI.

  • Your work should represent your own learning and effort.

    If your teacher asks you to identify or document AI assistance, follow their instructions. Never claim that work generated by AI is entirely your own when your teacher expects you to disclose its use.

  • STOP. THINK. CHECK.

    Use AI as a tool—not a shortcut.
    Protect your information. Check what AI tells you. Follow your teacher's expectations. Most importantly, keep learning and doing your own thinking.
